We made it to Seoul! It’s another huge city with lots of people (~11 million) and enough English to make it navigable. Our biggest issue is that Google & Apple Maps aren’t reliable here. I downloaded their local map app, but it’s primarily in Korean even with my setting set to English. We were lucky enough to stay in the same hotel building for our stay, making it easier to figure out navigation.
Our mission was to secure Cihinese visas, which wasn’t possible. Due to conflicting internet information and waiting until the last minute, we couldn't fulfill the necessary requirements within a reasonable time. Instead, we’re flying through Guangzhou China with a 13h layover, and we’ll find out tomorrow if we can leave the airport to stay in a hotel or if we’ll be sleeping at our gate. Mia is romantically excited about possibly sleeping at the airport.
While in Seoul, we saw the N. Seoul Tower with amazing bathroom views, a traditional Hanok Village, the extensive night market serving up tall soft serve ice cream, and the Cats’ Playground Cat Cafe.
