Pastries and More Pastries While Visiting Munich, Germany 🇩🇪

As our family traveled from Prague and rolled by train into Munich, we felt the urban assault of another big city. There were more people, it was loud, and displayed neon signs advertising nightclubs, sports gambling centers, and liquor stores. Also, within a few city blocks was the stunning and impressive Marienplatz with it's historically spectacular buildings, remarkable Glockenspiel (clock), and towering churches.

We stayed at the Arabest Aparthotel, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Our first night we were hankering for Indian food, and we ate at Rasoi, which didn't get great reviews, but we thought was some of the best Indian food we've had.

We simply couldn't get enough of the pastries! And we noticed that may people walk around eating hand food like sandwiches, sausages, pretzels, and pastries, so we weren't the only ones enjoying the food. The Marienplatz was marvelous, and we managed to have a wonderful experience with locals at the Augustiner Stammhaus.

Although it seemed impossible to top the Marienplatz, once we saw the surfers at the Eisbach River Wave, we were thrilled, and it was one of our favorite moments. We took photos, videos, and slo-mo videos of the surfers jumping the wave, performing full spins, and zipping back and forth. We continued to stroll along the Englischer Gartens enjoying lush green landscape and fresh air.
