Lovin’ Ljubljana, Slovenia as Our Family Travels Through Central Europe.

Our first impressions of Slovenia’s capital city Ljubljana was of excitement and amazement, and it was exactly what we'd hoped to find on an international family gap year. Pedestrians dominated and there were Christmas lights decorating the network of walkways.

The streets were lined with restaurants and food vendors with outdoor seating with temperatures in the 40°s. I went into the restaurant to use the bathroom and it was empty because everyone was outside eating.

Our Slovenian friends (Anze, Natasha, Iza & Lev) met us for the weekend. Mia had a cold, so Iza and she hung out at the hotel, while the rest of us walked around Ljubljana. The second day Mia stayed in as the rest of us went to Ljubljana Castle and had lunch, meeting up with Anze’s brother Tilen.
