New Years Travels to Piran, Slovenia 🇸🇮

After NZ, it was time for our family to travel to Europe, the final leg of our international family gap year trip.

After a 16h flight, 4h layover in Dubai, followed by a 7h flight, we finally made it to Milan on December 30th. Mia fell asleep at 2pm on the bus from the airport to our apartment. Our sleep schedules were extremely jacked, and we all woke up at 1am  on the 31st .

We took a train on December 31st from Milan to Sežana, Slovenia and then took a bus to Koper and transferred onto a different bus to Piran, Slovenia where we stayed  for only 2 nights.

We almost missed our train stop in Sežana not realizing it was time to get off. When we finally got to Piran, we took a nap, but forced ourselves to wake up after a couple of hours, ate dinner, and then celebrated NYE in the square, where music was playing and later they had a Slovenian band play. We lasted until about 11:30p and crashed. Mia was a dancing fiend and several locals told her how much they loved her energy.

We had a wonderful time in Piran eating and drinking delicious food and coffee, and our apartment hosts were amazing. Our apartment was in the square, so we were in the heart of the action.
