Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Our friend (and #1 trip planner) Puru, who owns My Everest Trip, planned an all inclusive trip from Kathmandu to Chitwan NP to Pokhara for us. We had the most knowledgeable and attentive guide Sandeep, and we stayed at the Jungle Crown Hotel, where we were relentlessly doted on. KC made sure we had everything we wanted and needed in the dining room, while the groundskeeper kept the fountain at the pool going for us. Hours after arriving, Sandeep took us to the river for sightseeing and sunset. While sightseeing we saw three crocodiles in the water, the back of a rhino, two types of deer, a sloth bear (which was the coolest), elephant, bats, ibis birds, and a peacock. Pretty remarkable for 90 minutes. The trip included a Tharu cultural performance, canoe trip, elephant breeding center visit, elephant safari (reluctantly and controversial), and jeep safari, where Mia thought she saw a tiger. For the three days we were there, we adopted a black kitty and named him Kālō/(ü), which means black in Nepali.
